Custom Fabrication & Adaptive Equipment
Generic equipment is often inadequate or doesn't fit
individual needs. Providers in the disabled and handicapped
industries tend to go with a one-size-fits-all solution.
Sometimes the disabled person is taken advantage of
by product reps and rehab consultants who are more concerned
with sales quotas than providing an effective and tailored
equipment solution. Sometimes the generic solution works,
but often the piece of equipment sits in the corner
and is not used because it is not adapted to the disabled
person’s specific needs or condition.
In some cases, there are relatively simple modifications
and adjustments to pre-existing adaptive equipment that
customize it to the individual user. Unfortunately,
most of those solutions are not offered or supported
by the manufacture.
At Home and Beyond’s services include modification of existing equipment and custom fabrication. We also can provide purchase recommendations for existing equipment. We are committed to creating equipment solutions that enhance the quality of life for disabled people.
At Home and Beyond can customize home equipment, offering such options as bedside
tables, security systems, intercoms, environmental control
systems, and automatic door openers. We also can create
custom outdoor furniture or make existing furniture
mobile by adding wheels.
In addition, we can customize wheelchairs for outdoor activities, from powered fishing reels to gun and photography camera mounts. We evaluate solutions and will speak on your behalf with the wheelchair vendor to determine what kind of modifications are doable within the warranty. Sometimes significant modifications are allowed.
Our goal is to encourage disabled people to get out and enjoy their lives. We will work with you to customize equipment solutions for whatever you can dream up.

This is a rifle mount made by SR77 Enterprises
which has been refabricated from the mount to
fit on all different types of wheelchairs from
Invacare Wheelchair with a Motion Concepts tilt,
recline, and elevating seating system. The rifle
is a Browning 300 WINMAG on the mount with windage
and elevation controls using a Tasch joystick
and sip and puff trigger control. |
